Nic Penrake - Writer, Director, Producer

Nic has been writing, directing and producing shorts and writing ad copy since the late nineties. His ad agency experience covers just about every kind of media known to mad men.

As well as his own short films, he has produced and directed corporate events for major blue chip clients, such as British American Tobacco; written, produced and directed a play and published one novel The Girl Who Wants Out.

His feature scripts Safe In The House, a black comedy, Ice In The Blood, a horror/thriller, Mud Boy, based on the short film and When The Money Runs Out, a feature based on another of his short films (Bunking Off), are all on a slate of films with Film Engine where he now heads up Development.

In 2015, working alongside Default Media‚Äôs producer Robin McGlashan, Nic directed a very moving 30 minute documentary about people trafficking called Road To Recovery, which was successfully entered into the prestious IDFA Festival in Amsterdam.

He is currently in post on a magical short film called Look Inside with daughter Shiona, a writer/director/editor.
